i like it better when horror chars are story-wise terrifying instead of visual. the OG story absolutely needed a rewrite, i just still prefer to draw and see him in the old fandom-interpreted style

the problem with modern x is he looks the same, and I get there's supposed to be continuity but the original (specifically after my5tcrimson) had so much room for interpretation like mx currently does. that's why it's annoying seeing people act like joe and ravens style should be the status quo. 💀💀💀

Honestly, it depends on the character. I think 2011 X would be significantly less effective if he looked more akin to Sonic. His ugliness works because he is a childish but smart entity who is genuinely just a goofy psycho. His ugly mug helps with his more dramatic expressions. But someone-

Like Exeller someone who looks more like Sonic works well because he is much mature and is an in universe threat. He kills with purpose. He doesn't do it for the fun of it, and he is anything but childish. Both are perfect embodiments of Sonic.exe imo.

I am kinda a fan of blending the two together. Having there be that level of allure and beauty to them while also having a good sense of some horror and slight monstrosity to it. Being able to honor and somewhat relive the past, but also acknowledge the new age material.

I also miss when Sonic.exe looked like this, I have fond memories of when I used to draw Sonic.exe a lot, years ago I would draw him as a chibi due to lack of practice, some people would look at me weird for drawing a Sonic with black eyes and crying blood, but I was still happy drawing him.
