God that's reminded me of pre smart phones when there was I think a TfL phone number to call to ask how to do a journey? Or have I totally misremembered that 🤔

There absolutely was - and apparently still is. Long ago it used to be the memorable (01) 222 1234. Now it’s 0343 2221234. I have no idea what happened then or what happens now if you dial it.
