Let's see, how do I name him without summoning his army of deranged freaks. CM, he used to work at IGN, left with some other guys to form a YouTube thing that I'm told was reportedly "Kind Of" Funny, then got booted and runs his own libertarian grift now. Mr. Pwease-no-steppy.
Have you ever noticed how many of those FAQ writers include god in their "special thanks" section? As though an omnipotent, omniscient being wanted to make sure you had a way to beat the boss on stage five.
Can a god be all-loving if They don’t want you to know exactly what you need to do to get the ultimate weapons in FFVIII without shelling out $25 to Prima
There's something endearingly human about the fact that, even when limited to nothing but text, FAQ writers were still determined to include some amount of beauty in their guides.
I remember seeing a bunch of different ones (mainly sports games IIRC) where the author dedicated them to the memory of pets of his that had passed. Most of them list three names but some of the earlier ones just have two listed. With some effort I could probably even pinpoint when the third passed.
I love the wachenrodder translation FAQ were the guy ended up going out with the girl they were using to help translate the japanese text. Always wondered if that relationship lasted!
