I'm still secretly hoping that trapdoor is incredibly defensive. I like the idea of being able to benefit from Assassin defence reactions by either turning them into fuel to be discarded OR supercharging them instead.

While I think this would be cool, I think it’d be a massive liability. Transforming will likely mean your opponent blocked out and remained marked. If they block, they have less to crack back with, providing a perfect opportunity to threaten a power turn. A DR agent weakens that turn significantly.

I think that's a very fair point - but one that I'm okay with? Typically, an opponent blocking you out *will* result in an aggressively slanted transformation and they'll be considering that. Having a "bad transformation" that doesn't just suck may allow exchanging of tempo and sounds promising?

It would offer some potential counter play, for sure, but it represents something that could almost be considered a “whiff”. Which I know Brute players will say we’re crying over nothing if we get a whiff, but I still think a whiff creates a negative play experience for Assassin.
