To every player in the VML yet to make it to the PT: Despair and believing you don’t belong in this game is exactly the weapon being wielded against you. You are far more powerful than you know, that’s why this worked and that’s why they’re gonna regret it working

With all due respect, Hasbro is a corporation and I'm not going to support a corporation that wants me dead. There are plenty of games that I can play whose creators don't want me dead. I've been playing Magic since Onslaught, but unless they reinstate the VML I will never play again.

I support this decision (not that you need it), and don’t think it’s at all in conflict with someone who wants to choose to continue competing at the game, as long as they choose to be loud and visible about the ways it’s still an unequal playing field

The way to be good at Magic is to believe you are capable of being good at magic - as good as the players you look up to - and put in the hard, self-reflective work to get there. To do this hard work you need a supportive community. That exists for you still. Please know that.

It's wild reading the weird detractors saying the vml wasn't successful for a myriad of dumb reasons when literally the vml may have been one of the most successful groups at getting a disenfranchised group into playing at the top level. Like I cannot believe that this was not worth it to wotc

It likely was worth it to them, but not in a way they, specifically the higher-ups who made this decision, could calculate/comprehend. So it falls to us to make that more visible now :)
