If you subscribe to Microsoft 365 Personal, the 40% price increase is a con to upsell you AI. Your old plan and price is still there called "Classic" - but only if you try to cancel.

Microsoft should be ashamed if not prosecuted.

ChatGPT & LLM-driven autocomplete programs (faux-AI) have their uses. But I don't need to have a conversation with 1 that's glued onto my dishwasher.

The techbros are absolutely desperate to find economic justification for the $ billions of dollars their faux-AI projects are burning through.

To lean into the absurdity of a faux-AI ChatGPT machine glued onto my dishwasher... 1st, the damn thing is spying on me, collecting "data" to sell. Next, I bought the dishwasher b/c it was EnergyStar rated. If I talk to the faux-AI machine, it negates that b/c the data centers behind it spew carbon.

I feel like a lot of tech stuff, even before this AI rise, has had a shaky relationship with consent. The number of times I have to say no, cancel, wait a few seconds to confirm I really mean to cancel, etc. And sometimes it still doesn't work.
The challenge of having my "no" accepted is gross.

I bought Microsoft Office ON A DISK in 2010. Installed it on my PC. Last year the fuckers DISABLED it, and sent me a message that I must switch to the pay per view office program with monthly subscription. I deleted MS Office and replaced it by Apache Open Office. Free. For everyone. Fuck MS.
