The NYT just ran an op ed by Kalmus about this. But what Kalmus says, on Democracy Now, is that the NYT censored his op-ed, which originally said that this was *just the beginning & it's going to keep getting worse until we stop burning fossil fuels*.

I stopped reading anything from the NYT years ago, they are very sophisticated, articulate, but still have that "spin" so called learned individuals do not seem to understand. One of many reasons US just not really do much of anything to lower emissions. Other countries are making some progress.

I wish people believed Covid was killing and still killing. I don't know why denial feels better and allows a person to not change.

He is right, I have listened to many, many scientists talk about climate change over the years, and the overall consensus is that things will only get worse and then get way worse. As adults, we should still do our best to lower our carbon footprint, and I just do not see this happening!

Both are needed, but yes, public trans, walkable cities, strict codes for insulating, et cetera, et cetera. But like everything else in the US, all seems to be one big echo chamber, people seem to love those big trucks, and Ford, GM answers! Just love those cruise ships, jet travel, motor boats....

Yes, this is just the beginning. All the flooding that's been ravaging Europe & many other areas is another effect of the same root problem that's being ignored. There are already climate change refugees etc. It's global & just getting worse. 😭
