All Council members seem to be "pragmatic about the need to adapt to HTS’s military success, although some, including Russia, continued to point out the group’s jihadist roots."
Despite current events, Council members agree that 2254's key principles, such as an inclusive political process & protection of minorities, are still relevant.

The UN's Syria Special Envoy & OCHA Head have both made trips to Damascus to meet with HTS, and many in NY are hopeful that the UN can play a facilitating role with regional backing. But, it is not yet clear if HTS agrees.
