2/ Ceasefires also require both sides to agree to mechanisms to monitor the ceasefire and to address allegations of violations.

Depends on the ceasefire conditions, is there a blue print already for the specifics, is it unconditional. The Ukrainian one sounds like it might have a lot of caveats applied to it, and monitoring will be external also. To create something that lasts and can be built on easily, takes time

Of course it could be faster if Russia had agreed to an unconditional ceasefire when it was proposed. But, they want to maintain control and make sure it benefits them.

You need to understand Russia: it's very hard for them "not" to hit energy infrastructure because that's the only target they are trained to hit. There is no list in thier hands with ukrainian military targets only listed civilian targets. That's the reason it's so hard for Russia to comply.

Not a farce I'm afraid. These proposed ceasefires and their extended talks are just buying time for Trump to continue his dismantling of America, time to ramp up disinformation to the fools that voted him into office, and time to change allied alliances favoring Russia.
