He said that players can’t be expected to play 2 or 3 times a week. It’s part of the reason that he did so much rotation when he first arrived. Ten Hag used to play his preferred 11 every game, and then bemoaned the amount of injuries.

Losing almost every game as result, he will soon learn he only have a goodish first 11 and when the heat is on he will be forced to play them all the time

No I imagine the idea is to build up everyone's fitness so that you dont have only 11 players who can play 90 minutes that get burnt out too quick. There are already a few that can do it, but too many are so unfit - it's why the little injuries kept happening. Mount/Shaw will be brought back slowly.

He said the reason he rotate is cause he need to get to know the squad, he don't rotate as much now, we can see a spine who play most games
