but that’s the thing, i don’t want to sell them; they’re my nan’s; she kept them all these years, who am i to sell them for a quick buck? i picked them up because i liked them. i only noticed the hallmarks after cleaning them up a bit. the money means nothing to me. i wanna keep them

seeing as they are worth so much though, i do feel a little guilty about taking them because, while nobody else had any sentimental attachment to them, i feel bad keeping it when we still haven’t paid off her funeral costs and the money would go to that.

idk, they’re kinda gaudy, and i picked out a couple pieces without hallmarks which i still like. they’re waaay too small for me, so i have one of the (presumably cheaper) un-hallmarked rings on a necklace. i would get the pricey one up-sized so i could actually wear it though.

one of the necklaces i picked out was in a box of cheap costume jewellery, with no hallmark but the word “Japan” on the clasp. i figured it was a cheap chain but my grandma reckons it could be gold? idk. i’ll have to have these all appraised before i even think about wearing them
