unfortunately can't forgive Midas Man for somehow kickstarting this strange period in my life where I'm compulsively talking about Ringo's childhood illnesses at work. (But would love to know what you thought of both!)

and Midas Man seemed quite a lot of the time to forget Ringo was there... well, I was kept interested watching both, but Midas Man definitely had its limitations. Here are some (too many) thoughts!
Thanks, really enjoyed reading these (not too many thoughts at all!). I do think forgetting Ringo might actually be an official crime though. I agree with your assessment of Midas Man. I enjoyed watching it, but not hugely satisfying in the end.
it does annoy me when they just feel the need to make up huge chunks (the fictional lover) and I know it's just what biopics do, but it just ends up feeling so reductive. Felt the same about Nowhere Boy. But Midas Man made me remember The Hours and Times...
...which I saw not many years after it came out and loved at the time. So I then watched that (and Backbeat). I still think Hart is a great Lennon, and I enjoyed watching it again!
(Incidentally, re: the Spanish holiday, it always makes me laugh when I see that Paul quote where he's like 'of course he went, it was a free holiday, nobody had holidays then!' When Bri and John were in Barcelona, literally all the other Beatles were on holiday in Tenerife!)
Ian Hart really is very good at it, I agree! And yes, I'm afraid everything Paul has ever said about this on the record is deeply hilarious to me. Just once I'd like someone to ask 'Where were you at the time?' '...also on holiday in Spain'
