Circa 1905, the residents of Fosworth, West Virginia were plagued by the black-garbed spectre of a woman manifesting at local elections. To great outrage, the shade would cast a ballot, effectively negating one male vote, and causing unprecedented ties amongst the town's voting population of seven.
