I once told some American tourists in Dublin who were recording how pleasant the weather was, as they expected continuous rain - that Irish weather was like a trump presidency - you get up in the morning not knowing what to expect - it's the anarchy of the elements
And worth a longer word from the poem
"Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity."
I like your use of the phrase " The blood-dimmed tide" from the William Butler Yeats poem, "The Second Coming" which was his view of the vileness of WWI.
Very apt poem on the eve of the inauguration of vileness
βWhen everything feels like itβs collapsing, it helps to have something reliable that brings you joy. It can be a hobby or a passion or simply love: the love you have for your childrenβ¦Knowing you are unconditionally loved in a collapsing world goes a long way to withstanding the pain of it.β
I am now on a mission. I am going to speak with the folks at The Bookworm. We will take you out to dinner. We will be your tour guides. Am aware that this will probably be all for naught, but a boy, and even an old guy, can dream.
from Sarah ~
"Resist any talk of secession and splitting the country. They seek to divide the US into oligarch fiefdoms, some of which will war with each other for their profit. Theyβll market partition as a solution until false pretenses. Donβt fall for it!"
Thank you for responding to a question about Canada. Especially insightful about how Alberta and my premier is acting, going to Florida and not supporting the team Canada approach every other premier and PM signed onto.
I suspect something like Grover Cleveland's second term. No one wanted him there. My feeling is there will be bizarre outbursts, ranting, and raving, and a compliant right-wing media to write down and amplify his every word. But will anything get done? Probably not.

I think theyβre going to sell our national parks. Excuse me, βprivatize themβ
Welp, for those of us who live in Phoenix, I guess that just means we're screwed.
