in my humble opinion, i mark the end in 2008. wall st banks and investment houses single-handedly took down the global system. when obama saved them and not us, it was over. he could have nationalized the banks, broken them up, sent all their c-suites to jail, and paused all foreclosures.

I remember all the talk about the New New Deal. Not exactly. FDR was actually seen as a “traitor” by his class. Obama kind of did the opposite - he saved that class to which he didn’t truly belong to begin with. This upset and disappointed a lot of people.
