The game is made by adrive. From what I understand he was a Pokemon creator that decided to pursue creating this game. The game has elements from Magic, Pokémon, and Yu-Gi-Oh. Your life is your resource to cast spells which is a twenty card deck of spirits (lands) & when it’s gone you lose.

Coming from Magic, I'm not a fan of playing my hand facedown to play later in the Rune slots. I'd rather just have cards in my hand & cast them when I gain priority or the opportunity to do so. But it seemed fine. I also only have played about 3 games with the Daybreak precons.
