Plans for housing, upcoming city events, town halls, vaccine information, historical facts, city programs that folks may not know are available or that they qualify for.
I'm wondering how Digital IDs could be used in the future. It might be cool to create a network that could only be used by people who actually live in a certain area, e.g. Boston or greater Boston. People would register for it at a place like the RMV
At the least it could lower the number of trolls on the network who comment on Boston policies without even living here
Eventually, we might be able to have secure, online voting, either in official elections or at first just for fun things like - "What color should we light the Pru tonight?"
This can all be done on the block chain. Given the open source nature of the BlueSky platform. I wouldn’t be surprised to see it here first.
There is a ton of pressure to keep any regulatory processes from using the block chain. So it could be years before you see anything like that happening. ✌️
If your actions lead to attempts to disperse migrants and offer monthly stipends to hide them from ICE, you and your City Council could be guilty of violating Title 8, U.S.C. § 1324(a) of federal law (harboring or concealing an illegal alien)
It will be great to use it as a source of the latest/breaking news about what's happening in the city, to make decisions on what to do... For example, if there are street closings, infra problems, etc. :-)
I would like to hear strong voices advocating for actions needed to further the influence of Boston throughout Ma. In the same way I would like Ma. to cultivate regional influence and trade.
housing updates, public safety announcements, and event information are probably the most important. but also, as a setting for informal, asynchronous town halls to solicit for feedback on city initiatives.
and I'd be remiss if I didn't append that I am also concerned and interested with how the city (and state) is planning for, and intends to handle, upcoming federal misbehavior.

Perhaps you can encourage other local goverments/agencies across the US to use their official domain names as handles?
Issue-wise: I'm liking @jfh01.bsky.social posts about automated enforcement for traffic violations

Yes, this, definitely.
