No that is not how history will remember this. It will be remembered as a president with foresight protecting his child from the exploitation of an incoming administration that threatened his son to enact revenge on his father.
In normal times a president should not pardon his son. These are not normal times. With all Trump has said about a Biden "crime family" there is no reason to think Hunter could have gotten a fair trial over the next four years. A pardon was the closest thing to justice we could see here.
Solid, well written article but in the end it does not move me to think President Biden failed. He rather did the right thing as trumpThe Unhinged, would have had Hunter disposed of. If it was anyone else who had won the Presidency, I would say Hunter should serve time if that was the verdict.
Slate just 2 months ago "Trumps pardons were way weirder than you remember". No historical condemnation, no concern about injustice, just weird. Gtfoh.
