If I learned one thing from lurking in tarantula forums, they seem to have some personal beef with water dishes.

No idea if true spiders are like this, but I like to think that driders have some antipathy towards containers with water ingrained in their DNA and get irrationally grumpy at sight 😄

he's knocked his water dish over many times when angry (but not his food), so this seems a reasonable explanation.
