i think that getting "too confortable" with yourself and your skill sometimes makes you stop searching and going out of your way to learn, thats something that hapoened to me and i have to force myself to have that "drive" again because learning and improving is honestly the best part of art for me

i think art becomes really fun once you learn to just let go and not give a fuck... and just have fun....... i realized i just like how drawing feels cos its sorta like stimuli to me. and continuing to learn and hone my craft kind of feels like a game where u keep leveling up......

like i think getting better at art shouldnt be something so grueling and terrible!! it shouldnt be something fueled by negative desires and emotions. it should be coming from a place of genuine love and interest and because you genuinely think it is fun and cool and awesome!!!!!!!!

i think what can help making it more fun is learning how to accept having "forever wips" and rough sketches as the final output
art is a subject of expression after all, so even rough ideas can tell a lot

Just remember even the best at their craft have their bad days. I always tell myself my purpose however small was to make music, and doing differently would be going against my being. Moments of struggle is tough, but giving up for us artists is even scarier

Same here!! It sucks so much to only care about the result, and when the result isn't good enough you simply feel worthless as an artist

tbqh ive never really liked my art & probably never will, but thinking this way is what makes me so obsessed with art&drawing… + imo the value of art itself is the act of learning art & learning what makes art So Good, and learning what makes me love Good Art so much

i totally agree with this!! learning more about art feels kinda addicting.... i find it a lot more fun to focus on that aspect of art instead of just wanting to make something look good. and also like understanding that the more you learn about art the more you will inevitably get better anyway

ya! art is just one of those things where the more you learn about it the more you realize there is sooo much stuff you Dont Know. so it just keeps getting harder & harder.. which is kind of fun but can be demoralizing at times 😭 good luck on ur art journey man!!

AI art in particular made me realize that idgaf about images alone, i care about it in the context of knowing that a human being made it. like figuring out how an artist made their art, learning from them so that i might be able to make something similar someday, THATS what makes art valuable 2 me

I feel this really bad. I’ve been going through this kind of funk too. It sucks because back then I had that kind of fun!! I’m sure we’ll all get out of this and have fun with art, that feeling always comes back at some point 💕💕

what helped me was a bit of conditioning... i would do what was fun, and the second I found it boring or annoying, I allowed myself to stop immediately, even if it happened withing the first 5 min. i learned to manage that feeling, and sticking with practice was much easier.
