I need to get better about canning stuff, (also a liberal prepper) who sucks at canning. We dehydrate a lot and quick pickle, but I'm still working on my canning skills. I need a setup that I can do over a fire.

Keeping the flame at the right distance and being able to feed from the bottom would be ideal of course. Would recommend staying away from anything that requires a seal ring. Maybe look on Ebay or other places for a used All American 921? Pricey but solid.

Lastly, it takes a lot less energy (heat) to keep the 10 PSI on a 921 vs a GraniteWare. Just a thought.

We have had similar thoughts, looking for something that will work besides our fire pit. May have to to build it. Got Winter to figure it out but we will.

Yeah, we're looking for ways to do it without a regular stove. I have been perfecting cooking bread on hot stones on the fire. But the canning still has me scratching my head after several attempts. I'm trying to do some research on canning done before electricity and gas.
