I've spent a long time across the river, and I have to tell you, it is really weird to... like? And respect??? An Illinois governor? Who is doing good things??? And seems unlikely to end up in prison???
Meanwhile, I feel like it should come up much more often that in a couple decades of steadily increasing GOP rule, Iowa has gone from being one of the top states to get a good public education to being one of the top states to get cancer.
Not here where I live in Chicago. My boss moved out cuz taxes are so high. I was working 14 years and laid off. All I see around me are people suffering, no hope, no money, no hope.
I was reminded recently that having 4 of 7 governors, plus many others, going to jail means that Illinois actively tries to fight corruption. Just think how many elected officials in Texas should be in jail.
Where in Illinois are you? I was born in Chicago and all I see around me is people suffering, broke, down, no hope. It surrounds me here. Everyone is struggling. I cant even walk down block without several people asking for food.
I remember taking the train to work downtown age 19 and no problems, now it's so bad.. I see it as worse than before now age 42. People wandering around hopeless like never before.
