I remember reading Lord of the Rings in German class. Teacher was mad at my not paying attention, and in the middle of lecture, asked me a direct question, hoping to expose me. I, on the other hand, had task switching superpowers at that age, and without looking up, I correctly answered her.

I had a few books confiscated during class, especially when the teacher was talking. I think it was the movements my eyes not my paying attention to the teacher that gave me away.

Absolutely. And when I got caught by my history teacher I just read the textbook. Whatever book I was reading at the time was great for walking into things as I had my nose stuffed into it.

Yes, and it really aggravated my teachers. They could see the book, and they’d try to catch me out by calling on me to answer questions… I always knew the answer (because some folks can read and listen at the same time). There was one time I SWEAR I saw steam comin from her ears. 😂🤣
