Still working on it... at times, I can do just fine, even when someone is OTT rude... other times, I'm already in such a state of agitation and shock at what's going on, that I can sometimes get the wrong end of the stick or become reactive, much to my chagrin.

The only thing we *can* do is give ourselves self-compassion, ask for forgiveness and move on..
(If the person is unforgiving or petty, maybe just walk away. Some people will only make you eat bugs for any sign of weakness)
