Our secretary of treasury, Scott Bessent, doesn't even know if the China tariffs (our largest trade deficit & main cause of all this nonsense although the plot keeps changing) are going to be 30% or 54% on April 5th. Like 30 hours from now!

Can our CBP systems even update these tariff formulas in 30 hours? What actually happens we violate every trade agreement we've signed ourselves onto en masse? Does that invalidate all the other provisions? Relief of double taxation et al?

If we now have invalid trade agreements with the entire world, can our companies even operate in these jurisdictions? Can foreign companies keep operating in the US? Has anyone in the administration read through any of these treaties and protocols?

It's probably easy for him to say he "supports the troops" because that's abstract. Supporting the actual people and their families, not so much.
