I think if anyone answers “oh that’s classic BBC” rather than answering the question, you know they’ve lost. Really don’t think Clarkson is helping the farmers at all with his involvement

Agreed. I don’t think he helps their cause, just entrenches opposition.
A lot of people will question why their public services should subsidise Clarkson’s wealth.
His involvement narrows and polarises the debate.
Absolutely. Even if some "family farmers" are affected, and there are always "innocent" folk caught up in changes to tax/benefit arrangements, the multi-millionaire tax dodgers have hijacked their cause.
I disagree. I used to think owners of multi-million pound land assets shouldn't have generous tax exemptions, but as soon as he said "typical BBC" I've changed my mind.
Three years ago Clarkson boasted in a National newspaper that buying farms was a way to avoid inheritance tax and he'd taken advantage to protect £4.5 million.
He's probably the whistle-blower that ended up screwing all the other farmers.
Well, I'm a fan of Clarkson, I watch 'Clarkson's Farm' and enjoy his books, but he's just emphasising the government's case when he turns up at demos like he has today. As does Andrew Lloyd Webber, who apparently farms 5000 acres himself.

Out of his depth & shows how clueless without a script he really is. Couldn't think on his feet at all.
He stuttered, made up some figures & simply didn't know what to say.
