I really don't see how I could be doing anything more important than using my academic background in biology to expose the sex pseudoscience at the core of a massive medical scandal harming children called "gender-affirming care."

You mean you are a political operative helping the GOP to make trans people a convenient scapegoat while Trump, Musk and other ghouls loot the federal government.
Does anybody have any sources on the back-story of how the Academy of Pediatrics converged on a consensus on social/medical gender-affirming care? Scientific evidence usually doesn't translate into standard of care that fast, especially in a complicated area like this.
🤣 that’s random but okay ! I would say no I am not opposed considering circumcised boys are less likely to get urinary tract infections as hygiene is more easily managed. Are you opposed to them ? Lol… I also have a friend who was circumcised as an adult and he much prefers circumcised
The only place where men can be women and women men, and that sex is a spectrum, could possibly be on Discworld!
Perhaps we are actually living on Discworld!
People need to realise that this 'gender-affirming care' is pure mumbo-jumbo, gobbledygook...
These are at least two very different things! My family was under the impression that gender-affirming care for kids is just about pronouns names and clothing.
Without taking a position on any debates in *this* post, I propose that everybody who wishes to discuss the topic be more specific in their terminology: say 'social gender-affirming care', 'medical gender-affirming care' or both.
'Gender - affirming care' can mean whatever one wants it to mean. It's rather an ambiguous term, probably used deliberately to confuse people, so nobody really knows what the hell they are talking about. Being not specific is the whole idea!
The key concepts under debate mean whatever the debaters agree they mean. In this context, the definition put out by the US HHS (https://opa.hhs.gov/sites/default/files/2023-08/gender-affirming-care-young-people.pdf) seems like a reasonable Schelling point and if someone is using a non-standard definition it's on them to clearly state what they mean.
... and if they don't put forward a clear definition we should assume they mean the whole spectrum of interventions: social, hormonal, and surgery. That is why, if you mean something more narrow, it's a good idea to specify social gender-affirming care vs medical gender-affirming care

And there are some people who ARE opposed to circumcision for that reason.
But the fanatical anti-trans campaign has no problem with circumcision.
Your work is meaningless.
Shall we pick up where you left off, or are you finished here?
