I think you all should do a new channel dedicated to long-form, deep-dives into technology/internety-things. Imagining something like the episode “ICANN and the 7 Keys to the Internet”. Perfect for stuff like this. I know The Verge does a similar thing.

I wanted Mastodon and Threads to work together. If they had, it would have won. The internet might have worked better. This is still a pleasant path. I’m happy Twitter died.

They are still taking those steps, but I genuinely don't think they'll ever flip the switch for full federation. I think it will always be opt-in on their side, which is simultaneously something fedi people would be in favor of and a major bummer for interoperability.

I remember watching this when it came out! Good episode but one thing I remember being wrong was I think you said since your handle is your domain your posts are hosted there? not _quite_ right, your posts are hosted on a separate server, but yea users see your domain as your handle :)
