In India no carrier supports RCS in iPhone. Sad part is if you call customer support, they have some random KB article in their DB and share some info about something else. 🤣
This outlines exactly what RCS is flawed. The company pushing for it so much decides to not enable it on their own wireless service? Either bed cause they can’t, or for their own competitive advantage? So then why not let users just choose the messaging app they want and move on.
Actually, I think you’re the one that’s misinformed. I think the service is lacking and for Apple to turn it on just like with Google devices it would have to disable other features.
There’s clearly some bullshit going on, but regardless of who’s fault it is my point still stand. If you are beholden to the carrier, you’re gonna be disappointed.
This isn't the same thing. For any other device using Fi, you have a choice between using RCS or using "call/text sync".
For iPhones on Fi, there is no choice. You can't use RCS at all, even though the carrier supports it, because Apple themselves won't enable it. That's what OP is talking about.
to be fair to Google, even as a primarily Apple user, I give them some credit for experimenting with new products more than almost any company in the world. You never know what might catch on!
