Everyone should understand that if you’re not on a scholarship or fellowship to an Ivy League, nepotism was involved. I wish ppl would stop deifying the ivys so much. That being said I would love to go to UPenn Law lol. I just am not loaded to buy my way in. - ThreadSky

It's the companies that hire that are creating a caste system, and ultimately their clients. The white shoe law firms and banks know their clients want Ivy grads, and so the beat goes on.

I guess it depends a little bit on what you think your career will look like after getting the JD. Prestige schools matter more if you're thinking about running for office, prominent judicial positions, or rainmaking. Maybe that's you, maybe it isn't.

I don’t have the GPA to get in there. LSAT in the range but I didn’t care about undergrad and it was harder back then. Apparently kids gets all these above 4.0 boosts in college now. So I was never going to be a UPenn law school candidate. I have multiple schols to fine schools that aren’t t-4

But you don't seem to see that you are the one deifying them by wanting to go there. You are just jealous because you can't afford them. If you truly felt they are unfairly being deified, then you wouldn't want to go there.

I want to go for the doors they open up by way of being deified. Not bc I think they are better at delivering education. I would still think the exact same way as I do now about Ivy leagues but I don’t deny that the lead to opportunities others schools don’t bc of prestige.

Thanks! My cycle is almost over. Decision making time soon after I get every offer in. Pretty excited though. After teaching for 8 years, a quiet daily paperwork job is what the doctor ordered
