Great article. I'll need to research if ancient Poles did as ancient Celts did with brains. Brain matter of the vanquished was added to the "concrete" ingredients used to make slingshot balls.

What the... holy shit, I didn't know *that*! Was it symbolic of defeat to those having the brain cannonballs thrown at them?

(Also, have you read Cannibal: The History of the People Eaters by Korn, Radice & Hawes? It's an excellent book written through an anthropological lens)

It's a great read... the first copy I got had Jeffrey Dahmer on the cover, which was a little misleading as he features in such a small part in the book.
