I am consciously trying to! Ordering from Target now. They have free delivery. Ordering directly from companies when I can. Shopping at Whole Foods less.
Update to add that following their announcement to discontinue their DEI programs and commitment to black and minority vendors. I will not be giving them my $$.
It's not!
Unfortunately, too many people are lazy & addicted to consumption & convenience.
We have the power of the purse & we should damn well flex it in these sordid times.
This is a miniscule sacrifice compared to what's to come with unchecked oligarchy.
Living in the eighth-circle-of-hell-doomdungeon that is America, so many of us have been burned out to the core to the point we’re literally too disabled to leave the house. Instacart, DoorDash, and the like are rife with outrageous fees, so Amazon — for many — is the only economical option.
Considering Amazon has a near monopoly on online retail, ebook sales, and web infrastructure, yes, it would be difficult for anyone to stop consuming from Amazon.
Nope. We cancelled our Prime membership and have been Amazon free for >3 months now. For me, the only thing I really miss is some shows on Prime Video I wanted to watch. I cancelled Audible and get my audio books from https://Libro.fm now.
Nice. Timing was everything for us. Our Prime membership was just about to renew and my 24 book credits for Audible was about to get charged. I know it’s not even a drop in the bucket for Amazon, but that was over $260. Plus, we were pretty frequent shoppers.
