The VA hospitals have turned into some of the best run hospitals in the country over the past 20 years. I hate greed! They talk like they want to end every social safty net we have, under the guise of waste. I am of the belief Elons own subsidies from us, the 99%, will only increase. I do hope not.

That’s already covered. Project 2025 has all public high school students taking the military aptitude test, and sounds like they intend to enforce some kind on conscription for public school students. Private school kids are exempt, of course.

In 2006, when the Cons took over here in Canada, they ended the lifetime pension and healthcare for newly disabled vets. The rates of suicide and homelessness went through the roof.

Trudeau reversed that, returned the pension option and restored healthcare coverage and those rates have declined.

Amazing isn’t it. As a fellow SC veteran, i get care both at the VA and at a private facility. Sought help through a private provider and felt I wasn’t taken seriously. In desperation, checked in to the local VA facility and I’m still here because of their access to care.

I can read poll results. 60% if veterans voted for Trump in 2016 & 2020. It was Dems who pushed through increases in veteran benefits and coverage for the tar pits. Yet 61% of veterans voted for Trump in 2024. My bottom line: I will no longer sweat Republican efforts to cut veterans' benefits. /1
