Yes! There are other special elections again this year. W/ the U.S. House split, the GOP at 218 & Dems at 213, every vote in these special elections is crucial. Electing Josh Weil (April 23), Blake Gendebien (May 6), and (May 13) can block harmful legislation.
With Rep. Turner’s passing, Texas will hold another special election on May 15, 2025. This is a key opportunity to make a difference. Every vote matters as we work to ensure the voices of those who fight for progress are heard in Washington.

482 votes separate the Democrat from the Republican and that Lib candidate took 480 votes. He ended up accidently costing the Republican the election, LOL.
Hey! That’s my local news. I was on there quite a bit for various reasons as a cop. I miss it now that we moved 4 hours away in between State College and Altoona- aka Luigi’s arrest.
I feel sorry for him and it wouldn’t surprise me to find that he has some mental health issues. I do wish people would stop sending him money. His family owns at least two country clubs. There are so many places in the legal world that need money to fight.

It panned out! I reminded my neighbors, too! This a HUGE WIN for us. Plus, in the other special election in an Allegheny County district, the Democrat won that PA State House Rep seat BIGGLY, placing democrats in control of our State House! It was nice to go to bed with some good news.
Because just like Texas, the state legislative districts are gerrymandered to favor Republicans. Plus it's a rural area full of people who are politically entrenched in the Republican party. This is truly an outstanding win.
Texas is hopeless. Some ppl say it's purple but not hardly. Republicans have controlled every branch of Texas government for literally 30 yrs and but still, every election they get away with blaming Democrats for all that's wrong with TX, like i.e. high property taxes. This place is stupidville.
I don't disagree, but remain hopeful. I've spent a lot of time in both places. I was very surprised when Tarrant went to Biden. Pennsylvania state House and Senate have been dominated by Republicans for decades, (primarily the state Senate) and they still try to blame the Democrats too.
I'm hopeful too, especially watching national Republicans implode by the minute. Actually i live in Tarrant Co, and on election night, CNN showed this small dist that was one key to making the county blue. That's where i live. My guess is my immediate area is 75-80% blue. Hopeful 🤞

As someone who was born and raised in Lancaster but now living in Wales, I am so happy to see this! Maybe they can get some shit done to protect people like my mom who is on Medicare and Medicaid. She’s 92 and in a great care home. I can’t her to stay there forever.
It's important to know that you could not drive thru Lancaster county without seeing Trump signs and flags everywhere. This was absolutely a Republican stronghold.

Not a large margin, but considering that the district went to Trump by 15 in 2024 and it has a 23-point Republican voter registration advantage over Democrats I think it’s a pretty big deal.
