The film Anora itself doesn't embrace Soviet culture, if it matters anything, but the oligarchs and their way of life. Anyway, a stupid choice and gives you an impression of double standards in Academy of Awards - or maybe they don't have any standards at all, who knows.

Yeah, got it. But the way it was portrayed was just so predictable- sad people woven in their ambitions around money, and the emptiness in that. It was like if you think all of your problems are nails, then the hammer seems to be the only solution in every one of them. But original, not.
