I actually do think it’s a pretty apt metaphor, but I don’t believe it’s great news when your most ardent supporters’ campaign slogan is “this election is exactly like the trolley problem.”

It's actually nothing like the trolley problem. In the trolley problem, if you let the five people die you at least save the one other guy. This election is more like choosing between letting one guy die but saving the other five, vs just killing all six.
Will seems to be implying that there's a "right" answer to the trolley problem, proving he has no fucking idea why the trolley problem exists or is useful.
Well, fair. Just pointing out that its existence is as an exercise to examine our own decisionmaking framework. It's not a question on a multiple choice test where you fill in the scantron circle and move on.
Hate to drop this spoiler - but life is literally a real-time trolly problem. We should be weighing consequences, assessing values, and grappling with the real-world implications of our daily choices, from what we eat, to where we live, to what we leave those who come after us.
Yes, it would be concerning if that were the campaign slogan of his most ardent supporters. It’s not, as you know: it was a response to a particular purported rationale for voting 3rd party by a particular supporter. But things can indeed look bad if we choose to describe them incorrectly!

FFS, the trolley problem is asking you to do nothing and let five people die or take action and MURDER someone to save five.
How is voting Biden committing murder?
It's sucks, but true
That is, of course, assuming "The Trolley Problem" refers to how you would dispose of both of your enemies with a single trolley.
