I used to live in a very small Cotswold town where a man whose company made snow and snowy scenes for films also lived. Every Christmas we closed the street and had a big fair. A snowy scene was provided by The Snowman. It was magical.
We lived in Burbank between '93 and '95, so the best we had was the Glendale Galleria. Though, one Christmas they were shooting Things To Do In Denver When You're Dead around the corner from our apartment, which was a fun Yuletide activity ;)
Went to a Christmas party on at a studio lot a few years go with an ice luge for kids, snow coming down, and a full winter forest (on a stage) with Santa's house.
Had a hard time explaining to midwest parents the pictures from LA.
("They do it for movies, of course they can do it for fun")
In mid summer in deepest Cheshire with glorious weather, I once passed a field full of snow, the snow machine on full, and some of it got onto the car. Took ages to clean it off.

Next time it snows where I live, I'm gonna go outside and watch the flakes fall
