It took me far too long to realize that I needed to Apple Home products require a dual-band (2.4/5GHz) WiFi networks for initial setup of Matter devices. Would be great if Apple documented that somewhere, as a starting point

Need to add self defining devices to complement device types. Device types, while useful, are limiting what’s possible. (Industrial field-busses have solved this problem with device descriptors).

Need to think past greatest common denominator approach to deliver on user experience.
