Ya know I was gonna say something snarky but it's funny when he says "gamers" because at this point pretty much everyone plays games. Yes some are more dedicated but to say "don't mess with gamers", it's like saying "don't mess with people who drive cars". It's so ambiguous as to mean nothing.

If your entire identity hinges on your hobby/fandom then you take any criticism of that group personally. Any criticism, no matter how nuanced is an attack on you personally. So the whole "YOU DONT MESS WITH GAMERS" is kind of cult-y, juvenile and dissuades independent thought.
