Looks like Laura Fine is running to replace Jan Schakowsky in Congress. Since her state senate district is up for election, this would create a vacancy for her Evanston based state senate district as well.

Laura Fine is the first candidate to announce her candidacy following Jan Schakowsky's retirement announcement. Other potential candidates include Mayor Dan Biss, State Rep. Kelly Cassidy, and State Sen. Mike Simmons. Kate Abughazaleh is already in the race.
