Appreciate this might prejudice our readings, but am prepared to hang back on getting this information until afterwards.

ALA has the best data, but if you're curious about a specific book Google the title and banned and news article typically pop up with details. Based in the UK, I have a few motives for looking at international bans:

1 - a 'banned' book is definitely 'sexier' for students;
2 - a general look at what content provokes bans
3 - it's a truism that when you catch a cold in the US, we sneeze (or vice versa). We need to prepare!

Oh we love that book! Cisneros is Mexican, but it resonated a lot with this Pinay/German family here! My Palangga's family's house in Mindanao is in Jasmin Street. Would also make for a good title! She is a high-school librarian by the way. With Anne Frank Gymnasium, here in Germany. Just saying.
