There are probably lobbies behind these articles, no doubt. But meat alternatives, as any other highly processed food contains additives that are proven to be worse than non added products.
Oppositely, I hate integrist journalism. This is the article, the storyline is totally different.

The study itself is quite bad - anything “plant based” is “mostly plants” that’s junk food! Little Debbie cakes, candy etc.
In the vox article above, the authors even admitted they couldn’t draw conclusions about plant based meat.
It's impossible for these substitutes to avoid being UPFs. They're dependent on a protein extraction process that can't be replicated in a kitchen.....
