I've reduced my Goodwill donations, choosing local indy charities instead. I think more of those profits go toward their recipients or medical care. Also, Goodwill used to be less wasteful with reject donations and I think a lot ends up in landfill, based on reports I read, rather than recycling.
You need to fact check that SA article. Goodwill does not do anything helpful for the people It is another place with a CEO being paid millions a year, and claims "Job Training" for disabled, pays those people pennies an hour Even the people working in the stores don't make a living wage.
