The four pastors represent congregations in Harlem, Brooklyn and S.E. Queens, all important electoral bases for Mayor Adams. The call comes on the heels of the Rev. Al Sharpton questioning the dismissal of the charges and saying he was going to convene Black elected and civil leaders.

I asked mayor this afternoon about Rev. Sharpton and they spoke Wednesday morning and had a “great” conversation and was not worried: “It’s good to convene leaders all the time,” the mayor said. “I’m not going to change the Eric Adams that I’ve always been, fighting on behalf of NYers everyday.”

The language from the 4 pastors was harsh: “Mayor Adams has been irreparably compromised and can no longer be trusted to speak up, speak out, and fight for the black and brown communities across this city who need him most,” they said.
