What’s fun about this is that my setting on the delay pedal is almost exactly the same as what I use for “Where the Streets Have No Name, except here I added chorus (this pedal has modulation on the repeats).
It’s definitely a subtle one and probably not super intentional on mwY’s part, but “Bullet in the Blue Sky” in particular feels like a predecessor to part of mwY’s sound (like A - B Life & CFUTF) and Joshua Tree was such a huge album that the guys surely heard it at some point.
With the way I found this A Glass Can Only Spill sound, I can almost imagine Mike setting his delay pedal to a Streets sound and just stumbling onto this riff instead for the first time. No idea if that’s really how it happened but it’s fun to think about.
