I did have it marked down as a transition season at the start of the year BUT I did not expect them to be falling apart like this. Rod's staple, team effort, has visibly dipped and now it's up to him to coach this team out of a rut he hasn't seen them in before (as HC).

Maybe it's his overt loyalty to vets, his systems that he hasn't wavered from hardly ever, or just simply the message has lost its luster. Either way it's on the coach to get them going. Down year or no, the effort and product on the ice is unacceptable.

RBA is a very good coach, RBA has some flaws to fix to be a great coach.

Unfortunately a lot of coaches have to get fired MULTIPLE times before you can call them a great coach. See: Paul Maurice. Dude coached nothing but the trap for like 8 years when he entered the league.
