The aesthetics and material culture of the Bronze Age is so sorely underappreciated. Societies and cultures so rich and varied but have next to no authentic representation in pop-culture. I love this so much!
Oh damn that would be so rad, I cannot decide who I am most excited to see a Bronze Age Goran spin on? Also just in case it wasn’t clear that Boromir fucking rules (or maybe more accurately, stewards)
I went to Boromir first because his clothing is the richest but I'll try and get through the whole fellowship. Subscribe to my Patreon if you'd like to support these little excursions - https://patreon.com/gorangligovic
Boromir is my favorite and this absolutely rules. I love the shield and all of the gold. I also really love the helm, it feels like a subtle nod to the Bakshi film :) Thank you for posting!!
You've captured facets of him that most adaptations miss. Bravado, yes, but layered over the sort of team-captain bonhomie of a guy who genuinely likes leading his men and looks forward to hanging out with them later. His tragic flaw is that his self-worth is tied up in quarterbacking.
I've always felt like he would be super vain about his hair, and that it would be one of the biggest visual differences between him and Faramir, who would keep his pulled back out of his face.
Don't be mad at me, but something about the way he's standing and holding that shield makes me think he's standing at the top of a half pipe about to drop in and just fucking shred it.
