I was there, and as far as I remember he was named as a sub, recovering from injury. Came on late and played upfront. I could well be wrong!

I was a teenager then. On that day I was visiting a relative in hospital. As we made our way through the corridors, everyone we passed was saying, “Des scored! Des scored!” It felt like a whole city rose to its feet that day.
