I haven't thought about Shasta in years. Dad took us with him on sabbatical to California for 2 years, I have fond memories, including shopping trips to the Alpha Beta
These were the taste of my summer one year. When they disappeared from my local store, I foolishly spent years looking for them anytime I was at an out of town store.
Shasta also released cans and 2-liters of their standard sodas that featured Mario as well, as seen both in the above images but also here as Darla hold a Mario root beer in 1994's "The Little Rascals"
The super Mario brothers super show, if you watch it is one of the fucktest things ever recorded. Apparently Nintendo was barely involved. Nintendo, the same company that will sue you into poverty over an emulator. Same company
Still sad my parents never got these for me. The food store they liked to shop at didn't carry them. Was so jealous of all the other kids in school enjoying elite Mario beverages.
They used to sell these at the Ocean State Job Lot back when I was a kid. I remember liking it, but I was, like, 9 years old so I'd enjoy any sugar water that wasn't Fresca.
I remember seeing these at this weird market we went to just once & that I have no idea where (it wasn’t in my hometown) & thinking they looked like they would taste bad.
Attic, Basement, Storage Unit, Safe, Buried Under A Stone Seal To Keep People Out Or Maybe Something Awful In, Time Capsule, Taken By A Sibling, are the main places to check.
