Except he doesn't realize that fake red flags at the end of Indy 500 (which have become increasingly common) devalue the race just as much. I've grown tired of seeing people whine about NASCAR's gimmicks while pretending that IndyCar is the height of purity in motorsports.
although youre correct that indycar does do that (they shouldnt imo!) that doesnt erase the point that hes making. if a race were to end under yellow once you get under 10 to go, the intensity would be much higher than it currently is with OT
I agree. The problem is (like I said earlier today) in NASCAR fans will throw stuff on the track if they expect and don't get a green flag finish. Although I guess that didn't start until NASCAR started introducing its own fake red flags in 1998 and years following...
It’s a conversation that has to include keeping the number of caution laps per caution under control, and better use of the red flag they keep seeming to loose up their (NASCAR) asses… 10 laps under caution to end a race and I’m lighting shift on fire.
The current situation is the lesser of two evils.. but only by the thinnest of margins. If NASCAR could show better competency in not burning laps under caution to obnoxious degrees… completely open to the discussion.
Didn't this whole thing start with an angry mob/temper tantrum at a Coke Zero 400 that finished under yellow? I do believe it was the backstretch crowd that went nuts.
Yeah, those same backstretch stands they tore down a while back 😂

I'm also team "rack em up and run again" when it comes to a GWC on the white. They'll figure out they can't afford to keep wrecking real quick.
